The General Arts and Science – Liberal Studies program fosters critical thinking and analytical skills through various subjects within the humanities and social sciences. The program will encourage you to expand your worldview by exploring contemporary issues through a range of subjects and by applying a variety of diverse learning methods. General Arts and Science – Liberal Studies is designed to open doors and build pathways for your future studies, whether at college or university, with our connections to excellent credit transfer opportunities. Upon completion of this two-year diploma program, you will be eligible for university articulation agreements. Alternatively, if your chosen path is to explore workplace opportunities, the skills you’ve developed will be transferable to many entry-level positions. With a liberal studies education, you’ll experience personal growth and development and gain confidence in your academic abilities and essential employability skills, as you prepare to thrive in your chosen path.

What are the admission requirements for the General Arts and Science – Liberal Studies program?

General Arts and Science – Liberal Studies admission requirements

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status
Grade 12 English (C or U)

Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older), and home school applicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicants who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED, and equivalency testing. Pathways

Applicants who have taken courses from a recognized and accredited post-secondary institution and/or have relevant life/learning experience may also be considered for admission; refer to the Credit for Prior Learning website for details:
